This odd story of the disappearance (and reappearance) of Rosthern, SK-born and University Of Alberta student Wellington Russell Dewar was found while researching another story, and it's become one of my favorites in Edmonton Lore.
The wink-wink, nudge-nudge accounts by both the newspapers in Edmonton and Saskatoon and the friends of Dewar gave the impression they knew exactly what was going on, but wouldn't say in polite company:
