The murder-suicide of Edward Brodie and Michael Masur (who both lived in Edmonton at times) in a hotel room in Victoria, BC on January 16, 1951 is by turns lurid (by the no holds barred description of the incident by the reporting) and a mystery (what really happened in that hotel room? what was their relationship?) that continues to this day:
