I was lucky enough to acquire a collection of newspaper clippings, photos, and ephemera related to both Edmonton and Alberta from my friend John Hanson and am slowly going through the huge amount of treasure, like this pamphlet from June of 1954 describing Alberta's then-comprehensive plan for the eradication of the rat given to homeowners and farmers across the province:
