Vintage Edmonton Film: Downtown Edmonton (1966)

Geissler, this all-too brief but enticing home movie of Downtown Edmonton in the summer of 1966 is chock-full of heritage buildings and landmarks such as the High Level Bridge, The Legislature, and the then-new Chateau Lacombe. A stunning shot going north from Macdonald Drive into 100th St reveals quick glimpses of The Hotel Macdonald and The Box It Came In, The old Post Office, The Centennial Library in it's construction phase, The old City Hall, the absolutely glorious Court House, and the CN Tower.
