Vintage Edmonton Film: Earl Mack Major-League All-Stars Visit Edmonton (October 14-15, 1932)

A few months ago on Twitter Flagstaff Films (whose Youtube page can be found HERE) posted a very intriguing film taken in Edmonton in the 1930s:

I immediately started looking through the archives for reference for the film and found that the Earl Mack Baseball All-Stars, comprised of both American and National League players, playing a 2 game series in Edmonton on October 14-15, 1932. The teams were comprised of both marginal players and all-stars, the biggest being All-Star pitcher Lefty Grove, who won 30 games for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1931 and 25 in 1932:

Edmonton Weather being Edmonton Weather, the 2nd game of the series was postponed because of snow; there was hope about playing the game the next day, though the tour was tight with it's schedule:

The film itself is truly breathtaking; bookending with shots of Edmonton (a truly stunning shot of the Hotel Macdonald and Carnegie Library especially at the beginning) and shots of Diamond Park in the background as various players pose for shots from the camera:
